Over the past few months , I have mentioned that you belong to a Chamber different from the rest . The programs and activities we administer run the gamut from economic development to leadership development .
Leadership Lackawanna traces its roots back to 1982 . Patterned after programs which had sprung up around the country , it started with the core program , a class of newly-minted junior executives . Since then , the scope of participants has broadened and another option was added , offering more tenured professionals a similar , but shortened , experience through the “ Executive Program .”
Tomorrow ’ s Leaders Today ( TLT ) was started by Skills in Scranton but the administration of TLT was transferred a few years ago to Leadership Lackawanna . A natural fit with the other Leadership programs , TLT is designed for high school juniors . It operates monthly on a schedule similar to the Core Program .
Leadership Lackawanna boasts more than 2,000 alumni – all trained to help build the community and make Northeastern Pennsylvania a better place .
