But as soon as I rolled out onto hot pit and gridded up with my group, all that went away. I was instantly focused on my machine and the rider in front of me as a serene calmness swept over me. It’s quite exhilara ng and medita ve all at the same me. Just clear your mind and focus only on what’s ahead. Don’t overthink, breath and have fun! This year, I tracked almost en rely alone. It was a big step because there’s always the fear of crashing and then not knowing who will take care of you and your stuff . But if tracking has taught me one thing it’s that we’re all one big community and that I’m never alone. I’ve made so many friends and learned so much from doing this. And you know what — there are s ll things I can’t do myself. For example, I physically can’t load/unload my bike, and it’s actually quite embarrassing. But I’ve learned to just suck it up and ask for help. That’s the wonderful thing about going to track; there’s always someone willing to help and teach you stuff , so don’t be afraid to branch out and make new friends. I think most people who track do it as much for the riding as for being a part of the community, it’s joyful and rewarding. Come have fun and join our family! Southern Track Days welcomes everyone to ride on the track, learn in the classroom and have a great time! Words by Anna Rigby "Red Spade" Photos provided by Anna Rigby 17
