Anyone  who  knows  me  will  tell  you  one   thing:  I  am  completely  in  love  with  the  past.   It  seems  I  am  far  from  alone.  More  and  more   people  feel  a  deep  desire  –  a  longing  –  to  embrace   the  way  things  used  to  be.  Whilst  I  agree  there  is  a   huge  amount  of  roman1cism  involved  in  this  (1mes   could  be  incredibly  tough,  let’s  be  honest),  there  is   also  an  undeniable  glamour  and  sophis1ca1on  of   1mes  long  gone.      Pin  up  is  a  popular  fashion.  Retro  is  an   interior  theme.  In  today’s  age,  we  are  able  to   embrace  the  glamour,  the  style,  the  sheer  class,   without  the  hardness  of  general  day  to  day  life.  The   ra1oning,  the  long  work  hours,  the  high   expecta1ons,  everyone  expected  to  have  their   ‘place’,  losing  loved  ones  in  war…I’m  not  saying  this   doesn’t  happen  today.  But  it  certainly  isn’t  as   commonplace.  Today  we  can  hide  modern   technology,  equality,  and  a  considerably  beCer   lifestyle  behind  the  sheen  of  the  past;  affirming  the   roman1cism  of  1mes  before.      A  recent  day  out  with  my  partner  and  a   friend  led  to  the  inspira1on  of  one  of  my  photo   shoots.  We  went  into  a  small  café/restaurant  on   the  docks  of  a  marina.  The  complex  itself  was   Modern Modern Model Model Page Page 6 6
