In
this
issue,
as
a
first,
an
ar*s*c
nude
of
a
wonderful
writer
and
excep*onal
model
(Phoenix
Rain)
has
sparked
a
flurry
of
concern.
This
is
not
a
selfie,
or
a
wardrobe
malfunc*on
–
this
is
conceptual
piece
that
the
photographer
and
model
spent
considerable
*me
and
effort
building,
and
is
a
true
work
of
art.
I
must
either
blur
the
image
beyond
recogni*on;
place
childish
tape
ribbons
over
exposed
areas;
or
label
the
ENTIRE
magazine
as
an
adult-‐themed
edi*on.
Given
these
op*ons,
I
am
flagging
this
edi*on
as
an
adult
edi*on,
because
this
does
not
take
away
from
the
beauty
of
the
original
image.
I
wonder,
however,
who’s
job
it
would
be
to
run
through
art
galleries
and
tape
over
or
blur
contemporary
nudes?
The
en*re
concept
of
“adult
content”
ignores
the
fact
that,
if
we
behaved
more
like
adults
and
stopped
trying
to
make
people
ashamed
of
their
bodies,
