Modern Model January 2015 | Page 18

Standing   at   5’2”,   Model   Stephanie   Nichole   is   used  to  people  looking  down  on  her,  but  the  Saginaw,  MI   model   has   made   it   clear   that   she   will   not   let   anyone   stand   between   her   and   her   dreams.   Arriving   on   Ome,   ready  to  shoot,  Stephanie  is  always  an  absolute  blast  to   work   with,   but   it   is   clear,   from   first   contact   to   the   final   wrap   up,   that   Stephanie   is   professional   throughout   the   project’s  range.  She  is  intelligent,  and  beauOful,  and  for   reasons  beyond  my  understanding,  she  is  the  model  that   haters  seem  to  love  to  hate.     Every   model   that   I   have   ever   worked   with   seems   to   have   a   small   anO-‐fan   club.   When   they   post   photos,   on   their   modeling   web   pages,   they   get   a   lot   of   likes,  and  then  comes  the  comments  from  the  select  few   that  think  it  is  important  to  try  to  ruin  someone’s  day.  I   have   seen   models   literally   shut   down   their   modeling   career   because   of   a   few   negaOve   followers.   Other   models   pretend   that   the   comments   do   not   bother   them,   but   sOll   lose   a   lot   of   sleep   over   it.   Stephanie   just   genuinely  does  not  care  about  the  negaOve  people,  and   Modern Model Page 18 is  not  shy  about  leqng  them  know  how  peKy  their  cruel   efforts.    The  response,  of  course,  is  generally  more  hate.     During   a   recent   exchange,   Stephanie   called   out   one   of   her   “supporters”   who   suggested   she   needed   plasOc   surgery.  Stephanie  also  clearly  and  intelligently  explained   that   a   modeling   webpage   is   a   business   page   for   networking   with   photographers   and   potenOal   clients,   and  not  a  plasorm  for  criOque.     At   any   rate,   laughing   it   off,   Stephanie   dismissed   the   comment.     “I   thought   it   was   hilarious,   especially   considering   the   source,”  she  said,  poinOng  out  that  she  obviously  knows   the   friend   that   felt   it   was   necessary   to   offer   such   a   pointed   criOque.   “It's   all   good   people   criOque   me   constantly.   Just   something   you   have   to   deal   with   around   here.   I'm   sure   Owen   Wilson   has   been   told   to   fix   his   nose   too  and  hasn't.  No  big  deal  to  me.”      As  a  model  that  sOcks  to  her  categories,  does   not   let   others   convince   her   to   model   outside   of   her
