  Program
  Director
  of

Modeling
  Basics,
  an
  entry
  level
  modeling
  program

based
 in
 Twentynine
 Palms,
 CA,
 I
 was
 considered
 a
 “12

month
 photographer”.
 Models
 who
 were
 entering
 the

program
  spent
  their
  first
  year
  learning
  about
  safety,

building
  their
  necessary
  markeOng
  tools
  (business

cards,
  comp
  cards,
  and
  porsolio),
  and
  seeking

assignment
  through
  modeling
  agencies,
  or
  paid

bookings
  directly
  through
  clients,
  agents
  and

photographers.

  Within
  weeks
  or
  months,
  some
  models

disappeared
  when
  they
  realized
  that
  modeling
  was

something,
 like
 other
 professionals,
 that
 required
 hard

work.

  Other
  models
  forged
  ahead,
  dug
  in
  their

heels,
  and
  conOnued
  to
  work
  towards
  their
  modeling
