GETTING TO KNOW YOU
at that point in my life, I felt like
I was flying by the seat of my
pants. I was very lucky in my first
year in that the clients I had in
my previous job (working as a
Consumer Psychologist in a global
advertising agency) had faith that
what I would be doing would be
great, and so very quickly became
my first clients.
achieve from working with a
business consultant, so you
can find one that specialises in
achieving your specific objectives.
Have you written a book? If
so, please tell us a bit about
what business owners can
get out of it.
My second book, The Innovation
Formula, has just hit bookshelves.
The book contains the 14
scientifically proven drivers of
how to create a culture where
innovation thrives. It’s an
important read for any business
that is trying to improve its
approach to innovation.
Tell us about some of the
expectations that you had.
Have they been met?
Aside from the core of what
Inventium does – helping
companies have a more
predictable and sustainable
approach to innovation – one
of my aspirations was to build
a brilliant team of people and
create, for them, what they would
describe as the best place they
have ever worked.
I now have a team of 16 people,
all of whom describe Inventium
as the best place they have ever
worked. For me, this is easily one
of the most gratifying things about
running a business.
Do you provide services
nationally?
We work all over Australia, but
predominantly in Melbourne
and Sydney. Right now, our
headquarters is in Melbourne
but we are opening up an office
in Sydney in the next couple of
months.
Do you have any plans for
overseas expansion?
We already do a considerable
amount of work overseas for our
global clients.
What would you say to
someone looking for a
business consultant and
what advice would you give
them?
Be clear on what you want to
