Everyone can pull off brilliance now and again - the trick is to identify where our natural and consistent behaviours would be considered brilliant most of the time and operate from there! And once we know that we can match candidates with the role profile to ensure we hire someone who is a fit for the role (X) instead of someone who may occasionally do well (Z) or someone who is destined to fail right from the start (Y). outcomes we need to look at the role and the person separately, get clear on each and then overlay one with the other to assess fit. In order to operate at a consistently high level we MUST understand some fundamental realities about our personality including our intrinsic motivation or purpose, our favoured patterns of behaviour for meeting those needs and how we sabotage ourselves under pressure. When we do we understand ‘fit’ and can finally take the guess work out of high performance and consistent productivity.
