Gohar Ayvazyan Beaver was born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia. She graduated from the
National Academy of Fine Arts in 1996 and began her career as a fashion designer. Between
1996 and 2006 she designed beautiful garments for many of Armenia’s prominent stars.
During those years she was also a successful stylist for photo shoots, runway shows and
television spots. Her work has been showcased on runways at Paris, Moscow, Armenia and
the United States and her clothing has been sold in boutiques and to clients in France, Russia,
Armenia and the United Arab Emirates.
Gohar understands fashion and fashion trends. Her creations are fashion forward – modern
yet unexpected and reflect the hopes and desires of the people she designs for. She transfers
these designs into outfits with clean structured lines which are both edgy and fresh looking.
She has worked with all types of materials including natural silks, linens, cottons and leather
to create outfits that will make every woman feel beautiful and young at heart. She also
makes hand painted silk scarves, clutches, handbags and other accessories.
She moved to America and founded Avyazyan & de Beauvoir Couture with her husband in
2007. They provide a perfect sounding board for each other, making sure that each and every
outfit that bears the Ayvazyan & de Beauvoir label is perfect. Their uncanny ability to read
each other’s thoughts translates into a modern and fashion-forward style which they proudly
present to the world. They have shown their collections in Washington, D.C., at Virginia
Fashion Week 2011, 2012 and 2013 and New York Fashion Week 2014.
