Whether you ' re a bodybuilder or fitness model the prefect look needs to be showcased when your attributes are being scrutinised by the public eye on stage or represented through a portfolio of collective images . Keeley ' s experience in the hairdressing industry stems from an apprenticeship role , which evolved into obtaining qualifications ( Level 2 and 3 in Hairdressing ) to venturing into business on her own opening her now thriving salon . She also has a claim to fame after appearing in a cameo role on a live television show .
Keeley ' s experiences in the industry started at a young age after being granted the opportunity by a willing employer , who realised her potential and desire to succeed . Since the age of 15 she has learnt to face and tackle the expected head-on challenges in her chosen career path , but has experienced success from inspiration that every single person can relate to .
She isn ' t shy to ask people things you wouldn ' t expect someone to ask a complete stranger .
“ The opportunity of doing a apprenticeship fell into my lap . I was lucky enough to have been offered a Saturday job at the age of 15 and the salon had a place for a full-time junior once I left school so I took the job . There are many challenges that hairdresser face on a daily basis whether it be colour corrections , restyle , keeping clients happy and making them have a excellent experience .
I get my inspiration from everyday people . Walking past people on the streets or friends and family on Facebook , it ' s always the first things I look at is people hair . If I like someone ' s colour I ' m not afraid to ask what they have & what colour they use . It ' s the only was to learn ”.
A love for the industry you work in can be on the plus side , especially when your career and business go side in side and is your life ' s work and dream . Failing isn ' t an option for some , including Keeley , who has succeeded and is now running her own business .
“ I was 15 when I started as a Saturday girl . I worked at Leddington Hairdressing where I qualified in Level 2 & 3 hairdressing then worked at Damian Lodge Hairdressing for 16 months before opening my own salon , which has been successfully running for over 2 years now .
Every individual needs to stamp their mark on the industry to stand-out and be ahead of their competitors and Keeley incorporates a generic look with her own twist on things to enhance her profile in the industry .
“ I love doing choppy textures hair , whether it be a bob , pixie or long style , it always sits better when the hair has texture and it has more style to it . But , I ' ve always thought about being a accountant , if I wasn ' t a hairdresser , but I ' m not sure I could sit at a desk all day ”.
Learning curves are a common occurrence in any industry , learning from your mistakes and improving is the way you will succeed in life and in business . Article by Chris Heath ......
