Summary
Since 1962, Danish A/S Michelsen & Ras-
mussen has represented the classic Ger-
man footwear company Gabor, which has
always focused on designing shoes of the
highest quality – with fashion and comfort
integrated in the design.
- With our experience, we know how im-
portant a factor quality is, whether it con-
cerns the choice of materials, production
or long-term relationships with our custo-
mers. It is important to us, but definitely
also for our customers, says Lars Michel-
sen, owner of A/S Michelsen & Rasmussen.
90 percent of Gabor’s production is done
at the company’s self-owned factories in
Europe – more specifically in Portugal and
Slovakia.
- A Europe-based production is quite ef-
fective and cuts down on delivery time,
thanks to the shorter haulage distances.

In 2005, Gabor took over the production of
Camel Active Footwear, which is focusing
on functional outdoor fashion based on a
cool and urban style, which is also the case
for the clothing division of the Camel Ac-
tive brand.
- It was quit natural to us to go for the
agency for Camel Active Footwear. The
German brand fully lives up to the same
values as Gabor, and in Denmark, we pri-
marily sell Camel Active Footwear’s shoes
to quality-conscious men, aged 30+, says
Lars Michelsen.

Through a subsidiary, the company distri-
butes footwear for children, women and
men from the Italian brand Geox.
- In record time, Geox has become one of
the top four shoe manufacturers in the
world with its world patented “breathable

prevents water from seeping in, says Lars
