Last month Tretorn photographer Olle
Nordell joined the Antarctica 2020 expe-
dition with the new Tretorn Eco Essentials
ARCH Jacket. The purpose of the expedition
was to raise awareness about the area's
vulnerability and climate change, focusing

which together represent a unique bio-
diversity - threatened by overfishing, climate
change and plastic waste. The ARCH jacket
is made out of Tretorns Eco Essentials fa-
bric, Ocean Shell - a new two-layer fabric

made from recycled polyester with mem-
branes made from recycled ocean waste,
made to be recycled again.

Shell is part of Tretorns next generation of
functional rain wear invented within the
Eco Essential initiative that started in the
company during 2016. The goal for Tretorn
was then to transform 50% of its outer-
wear into Eco Essential products before

pectations, and for the FW18 launch about
85% of all adult outerwear from Tretorn is
labelled as Eco Essentials.
- We wanted to develop a whole new breed
of functional outerwear that carries all of
Tretorn characteristic features and func-
tionalities but also pushes the boundaries
of what we call rainwear. This new gene-
ration of jackets is made to withstand the
typical extreme Scandinavian weather, but
