A new winter season packed with colours and a strong focus on design details is upon us . NU has met with Anja Bisgaard Gaede from SPOTT to chat about the new trends . Learn more about her forecasts for A / W 17 / 18 .

According to SPOTT , the season ’ s new colour palette sets the stage for an eclectic , outright disharmonious and artistic fashion store – filled with colours , patterns and contrasts . But it ’ s just as trendy to pick delicate and harmonious colour combinations – or to go with neutral basic colours as a contrast to bright colours .
New Neutrals One of the commercial key trends of the
Autumn / Winter 2017 / 18 fashion season focuses on classic combinations of black and white , or black and white toned down with a touch of bright tones of grey and beige . - It ’ s no longer about black or white from top to toe . The black / white trend features lots of patterns and stripes , which are literally mixed and matched . Many of the patterns are inspired from art and architecture in the form of geometric reflections , zig-zag , zebra , spirals and labyrinths , Anja Bisgaard Gaede from SPOTT explains .
Light Browns The brown tones – light browns – terracotta , dried out soil , desert nature and the Middle East are key elements in this ethnically inspired style . Here we see simple expressions with soft light brown tones that melt together with tones of khaki , beige and a dusty , burnt orange . Light blue serves as a contrast to brown colours . - The ethnic style also moves in a far more eclectic direction with lots of colours and complicated patterns , preferably mixed
