Please read our Legislative Report for detailed information about scope expansion, and remember that this effort "takes a village," which means that we need your help. Our success, and the future of Maryland optometry, depends on you -- so please get involved, donate to the MOA PAC and contact your legislators when asked.

Staying In Touch

It was great seeing so many familiar faces last month at our first annual joint Conference with the Delaware Optometric Association in Cambridge. For those who could not make this year's meeting, there will be a repeat performance - same time/same place next year (September 6-9, Hyatt Chesapeake Resort) -- so SAVE THE DATE!

I hope to see everyone at the upcoming MOA Annual Convention this December in Hunt Valley, MD. Our education program is tremendous this year with lectures from renown speakers including Drs.,Walt Whitley, Richard Hom and Leslie O'Dell. The Convention will also feature the MOA's 2nd Annual Visionary Ball on Saturday night, so don't forget to bring your dancing shoes. Visit the "Annual Convention" page on the MOA website to view our tentative program, for additional meeting information and to register at the Early Bird rate.

My Final Farewell

I want to thank you for the honor of allowing me to serve as President of this Association. While parting can be such sweet sorrow, I do so with great comfort and confidence in our next President, MOA President-Elect, Kevin Johnson, O.D. With Dr. Johnson leading our legislative charge, and with the effective leadership of our Board of Directors (not to mention the collective will of Maryland ODs behind us), there is no stopping Maryland optometry come 2018!

Be well and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.
