Step 4: Presentation--“I Do”

Input—The teacher provides information (lecture, film,
text, etc. ).
Modeling—The teacher shows students examples of
what is expected as an end product. The critical aspects
are explained through labeling, categorizing, and
comparing to exemplars of what is desired.
Checking for Understanding—The teacher monitors
whether students have “got it” before proceeding—
teachers need to have evidence of learning before
students start guided practice.
