GET ON THE RIGHT TRACK
TO TREATMENT
With advances in precision medicine moving as quickly as
they are, it can be hard for patients to know where to turn
for information and how to find the doctors who can optimize
their outcomes. Yet, getting the right information and
connecting with the right resources is crucial to receiving
the best treatment. To make this easier, the MMRF has joined with the Harvard
Business School Kraft Precision Medicine Accelerator and four
other leading cancer organizations — LUNGevity Foundation, the
Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance, the Pancreatic Cancer Action
Network (PanCAN) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation —
to create the Right Track.
Research has shown that patients who work with an
organization like the MMRF are better informed about their
disease, connect with experts and make better decisions with
regard to their treatment plans and other important milestones
in their patient journey. When patients connect with us, they
have access to resources to help find the right care team at a
multiple myeloma cancer center, learn about testing and gather
the information needed before starting a treatment plan. Based on research published in The Cancer Journal by the
MMRF’s Kathy Giusti and Anne Quinn Young, MPH, the
Right Track clarifies the many decisions patients need to
make in this era of precision medicine and to connect with
organizations that can help them. When patients follow the
Right Track, they receive better care and contribute to a cure.
