MMIA What’s the one thing you wish
you knew when you started out?
PATRICE One thing that I wish that
I knew is how much money it would
take to start up a business and time. If
I was more organized and prepared in
the beginning, I feel that I would have
had a jump start on everything. Moving at my own pace however, takes the
pressure off, so I’m definitely not complaining!
MMIA What part of your biz are you
most passionate about?
PATRICE Since I love to write and
network, I feel as though these two
things are what I am most passionate
about. I love to help other people, so
being able to coach other individuals
on publishing, networking, along with
starting up a new business is what
keeps me motivated.
MMIA How do you balance the roles
of entrepreneur and mom?
PATRICE Balancing as an entrepreneur and mom can be challenging, especially when you are in the beginning
phase of building up your business. It
can be very challenging, tiring, and
time consuming. However, I just continue to keep my eye on the prize of
one day having the empire that I can
leave behind for my son and family.

That makes it totally worth it to me.
Being the go-getter that I am, I never
give up. I simply keep on pushing and
just make things happen, even when
I am tired and just don’t feel like continuing on. I do what I have to do, so
one day I can do what I want to do, on
my terms.
MMIA How do your children feel
about mommy being an entrepreneur?
PATRICE My son is too young to understand. However I feel that being a
transitioning mompreneur, meaning
that my ultimate goal is to become a
full-time entrepreneur that will one
day allow me to spend more time with
him and have more freedom and flexibility to enjoy him and life.
MMIA What are your views on moms
becoming entrepreneurs?
PATRICE EVERY mom should at least
entertain the idea and do the research
to see if it is something that they want
to do. Once your business is off the
ground, it allows for so much more
flexibility and time for your family and
self. My company Mommy Divas on
the Move, LLC helps to encourage and
motivate moms to do just that. We help
moms to discover their passion and to
follow their dreams, while letting them
know that they can have it all.
