MMIA Why did you start your biz?
SHARONDA In between pregnancies,
I realized I needed something for myself. As a mom of two, I found myself
doing everything for everyone but
me. I cheered on my hubby, took care
of the kids, and went to sleep. I knew
there was more for me, and I knew I
wasn’t the only mom that felt like that.
I prayed and waited, and one night I
woke up with Sporty Mommas.

how many kids you have,

Sharonda Butler-Stewart is a graduate of Florida
A&M University. She is the wife of former MLB
player Shannon Stewart. In 2009, she created
Sporty Mommas LLC, a lifestyle brand that encourages moms to look, feel, and do their best.
Through sporty apparel, networking, and charity events, the brand continues to grow.

MMIA What’s the one thing you wish
you knew when you started out?
SHARONDA I wish someone told me
not to pressure myself too much. Building a business takes time, and it is okay if
it takes a little longer than you expected.
MMIA What part of your biz are you
most passionate about?
SHARONDA I love getting together
with other moms at our networking
events and seeing them connect with
each other. Sometimes you think you
are the only one going through something, and then you walk into a room
full of moms that get it. The 䁝
