MMIA What’s the one thing you wish
you knew when you started out?
OPHELIA Honestly, I can’t think of
one thing to say I wish I knew prior to my starting out, because every
business comes with their own trials, whether or not you’re the boss.
So, due to my love and passion for
what I am doing and still aspiring to
do on a broader scale, I embrace all
things because it’s the only way for
me to learn.

Ophelia Uke is a talented writer who had to
overcome many obstacles on her journey of
success. Her West Indian background was one
of a strict upbringing, wherein God and education was at the forefront. As a wife and mother,
she felt whole, but as a woman Ophelia was incomplete, seeking indication as to her purpose.
Writing was always an eye-opening outlet for
expressing her feelings. Not only was it a coping
mechanism, but also it was something she grew
extremely passionate about.

MMIA How do you balance the roles
of entrepreneur and mom?
OPHELIA Balancing the role of entrepreneur and mom isn’t an easy thing
to do, but because I love being both I
embrace them with my whole heart.
Being a fulltime mom is tiresome and
draining, yet EXTREMELY rewarding
because I see the impact I have on my
