Jason and I were high school sweethearts. Our dreams were always
the same. I would go to college and study interior design, and he
would join the United States Army to serve in the Special Forces.
When Jason left for basic training, the separation was almost
unbearable because we were used to being together all the time! His
time in advanced individual training made the separation even worse.
After he graduated we decided to get married. I didn’t know it then,
but when I got married to Jason, I enlisted in the Army as well! My
