Flip the switch
Why does it seems like we walk around all day,
every day, complaining about our problems and how
pissed off we are about them. If we’re not cursing someone
out about driving too slow in the car ahead of us, then
we’re talking about how ridiculous it is that we have to
wait 5 minutes in the checkout line at the supermarket. No
matter what there’s always something to complain about.
We get so used to being in a negative mindset that we go
days, months, and even years without even noticing it and
negativity simply becomes a natural way of life.
Remember the year when your parents didn’t get you
what you wanted for Christmas? You were so upset and
disappointed that you got mad every time you thought
about it. Then you went to school and snapped on your
friends (and sometimes the teacher) even though they
didn’t know anything about your little Christmas list. Not
only did you carry that anger back home but you even went
to sleep with it. How do you think that cloud of negativity
affects you? It affects everything you do and attracts more
and more of want you don’t want.
One thing I’ve learned is that every problem we encounter
is another opportunity to grow. Growth is necessary
and without it we cannot reach new heights. It’s our
imperfections that keep us from evolving into the beings we
were meant to be. Interestingly, it’s also our imperfections
that help us become the amazing beings we were meant to
be. This means that you can change your life and your life
experiences with the flip of a switch. I call it your overnight
success switch.
Today I challenge you to flip your switch and create the
reality that you’ve been dreaming of for years. Start by
looking at the problems in your life and appreciating the
good that can come from it. What lessons can you learn
from your misery?
In this issue you’ll hear the stories of some amazing
women who have turned their trials into triumph. If you
know an inspirational woman you think should be featured
in MMIA Magazine shoot me an email and let me know. I’d
love to hear all about her!
