on what’s happening in ‘Litvak’ country. One of my
regular bloggers Eli Rabinowitz visited many Shtetl’s in
‘Der Heim’ and his website has E-mazing details on
various Shtetl’s he visited, and he has also done a
detailed study of some Polish Shtetl’s … http://elirab.
me/ … His various Kehilla Links are VERY interesting.
The Stan The Good Shabbos Man blog
continues to offer a wide variety of Info each week, and
keeps the readers very busy: jokes , Gaserai & Meisa’s

In the past few months, two very important ‘Meisa’s
came up. Firstly, there was a person looking for long lost
family, and it is quite E-mazing that one line of
information from 1935, helped bring this family together
again. The second was the 74th Wedding Anniversary of
Louis & Minnie Gecelter. That is absoluuuuuutly
unbelievable! Rabbi Laurence Perez, head of World
Mizrachi is their Einingkel.
online Blog goes from strength to strength each year, and
this is the Blog’s 16th year. It was another ‘Humdinger’
year with the Sokka, Rugger and Oy-lympics bringing in
huge volumes of traffic. We have given the Blog a major
facelift, which makes viewing much better, and with the
important advent of Twitter, Facebook etc., the website
has been adapted to be user friendly on all.
I want to stay focused on local matters, a ‘Biesel’ on
Israel, and that’s it. I get soooo many ‘Shniebels’
(disgruntled) readers writing in because I missed
something in their country … again. I can only write on
things brought to my attention, and then of course I still
have to check some of the dubious ‘Meisa’s’.
The year has again been VERY busy, with the Super 18
& Rugger International Tournament being very popular
with readers. The OY-lympic’s just did not take off and
there seemed to be very little traffic on the Website
during the OY-lympic’s. Lithuania has been a busy topic,
with the locals trying to bar ‘Yidden’ from getting a
Litvak passport, and thankfully, that has also changed,
and they have promised to get it on track again. The
only problem is that the UK have pulled out of the EU,
and I am sure Souff Effrikken’s will need a Visa, even
if they have a Litvak passport. Big debates going on
whether Yidden should take a Litvak passport????? They
had the Malat 75th Anniversary March end of August
and a few Souff Effrikken’s joined in the March. On the
http://www.jewishlita.com/ website, you can find news

“Have a
Good
Yomtov and
well over the
Fast”
Have a Good Yomtov and well over the Fast,
Hopefully Rosh Hashanah brings with it peace and
prosperity for all Yidden in the Diaspora and of course,
the Land of Milk & Honey (Israel).

Guess whoever wins the Gold in the Olympics long
jump will always remember they did it in a ‘LEAP’
year… ! !
It was graduation day and Mom was trying to take a
picture of her son in a cap and gown, posed with his
father.
“Let’s try to make this look natural” she said. “Junior,
put your arm around your dad’s shoulder.”
The father answered, “If you want it to look natural,
why not have him put his hand in my pocket?”
