IRAN
I’m in Blackwhite 101. I keep expecting Thought Police
to barge through my door (or screen) and grab me for
noticing it, so I’ll type it quickly before they can get to
me and I just have to shout:
“Barack! You betrayed the only democracy in the Middle
East. You reneged on the deal. The deal was no nukes.
Not in 5 years, 10 years or 20 years. None, ever. The
Israelis played ball, no attack on Iran. And you? The
best you can do is North Korea 2.0?
Israel is the only state directly and repeatedly threatened
with destruction on a daily basis by people who really
mean it and could plausibly achieve it. And while there
are so many organisations and states keen on making
these threats that they actually have to make a roster for
them in the United Nations (a clerical achievement so
monumentally challenging, the UN rightly prides itself
on this to the extent that it feels it doesn’t need to do
anything else).
Iran is really at the top of the list, a position of which it
is notably gratified. And the nukes have one immediate
and succulent target – the Jews; but those tricksy, nosy,
shrewd Jews trusted you. What utter fools!

And coincidentally, you betrayed forever the ideals of
diplomacy. Because now Assad, Putin and every other
oligarch knows you don’t have the guts to take diplomacy down to the wire because you’re too scared of war,
so diplomacy will just play into their hands. They’ll act
violently and with impunity on your watch while you
draw red lines in non-poison gas.
Yes the Chinese and Russians were backing out of the
sanctions, but anyone who didn’t expect that is a myopic
shmendrick! You are the President of the U.S.A.; not the
United Nations. When U.S. interests don’t coincide with
the Russians’ and the Chinese, and you’ve tried oodles
and oodles of diplomacy, you use your G-d given power
to make the world a better place.
Barack, when I look at what you’ve done, I am truly at
odds with myself not to use profane descriptions of the
truly magnificent “finessing” you’ve delivered to Israel. I
mean it is a work of art, sublime in its duplicity.
And you call Netanyahu a liar?”
