FASHION
into the collection , and I am not usually a betting gal , but I am willing to almost guarantee that everyone will fall in love with cobalt blue . It is definitely a winner ! Looking through the new collection , I felt like the kid who had just found the Afikomen and was about to be given a prize , because I knew I had just hit the jackpot .
The collection varies – from checks and stripes to soft , whimsical vintage-inspired dresses and very on-trend chic bell sleeve suede ones . A common feature which I noticed in quite a number of the dresses , and one that I love at the moment , is pockets ! My first instinct is that they don ’ t belong on a dress ! But , since when has fashion followed any rules ? It generally breaks them .
Pockets are now becoming what is known as “ functional fashion ”. Firstly , they bring a relaxed casual vibe to a dress , and nowadays everyone is moving away from dressing too formally , even to shul , and they also provide the perfect spot to pop a tissue or a cold hand into . Bonus !
I am all about comfort , especially after consuming the four cups of wine and the matzah we are meant to finish – plus the actual meal – so I tended to lean ( excuse the pun ) towards looking at the more swing-type dresses in the collection . That is my personal preference , and everyone is sure to find a dress that works for them . “ Mastik caters for different sizes and different ages with over 120 styles per season ,” says Limor . Just call our showroom on 0116403583 and we will direct you to the nearest shop that carries our range .
My golden rule for enhancing the dress you do wear to shul or to the Seder or to any event , and here I break my own rules , but hey , that ’ s what fashion is about , is to wear heels , ladies !! I am not about comfort here ! Pack the flats . Heels automatically elongate the leg and give you a slimmer silhouette . If you have never taken the plunge and worn a heel , try it . You will never look back ! It may just be liberating !
Wishing you and your families Chag Sameach . ■
