Mizrachi SA Jewish Observer - Pesach 2017 | Page 52

WHY IS this year different from all other years ? It ’ s not ! Pesach is fast approaching and my brain has yet to connect the dots … Like the simple son asks : “ What is this ?” I need to be told and reminded that Pesach is really no surprise and pretty much comes around at the same time every year , and therefore I need not freak out the way I do . Yeah right !

So , to avoid the unsettling panic rising in the pit of my stomach and the rugby tackling the second the Pesach products hit the shelves , I retreat into my “ dodging mode ” and would rather focus on the part that makes me the happiest – buying new outfits ! With that in mind and on behalf of womankind , I will try to save myself , and hopefully some of you , a bit of time in the wardrobe department , so you can stock up on your 50 cans of kosher le Pesach tins of tuna faster than we can all answer “ Dayeinu ”.

I was allowed an exclusive pass to an early showing of the new autumn / winter collection , plus a chat and delicious coffee , I might add , with Limor Azaraf , founder and owner of the well-known clothing brand , Mastik , which is stocked in exclusive boutiques countrywide .
Limor tells me most of her inspiration comes from her daughter , who is a keen follower of the latest trends in fashion . Sixteen years later , Limor still chooses every fabric and print and design of each one of her garments before sending them off to be manufactured . The prints range from soft muted to bold toned ones . The colours of the upcoming autumn / winter season are incorporated
