Greetings from the Bishop “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year” are words we will probably hear and probably say many times in the next few days. Words mean something! Bloggers, authors, ministers, singers and the list goes on......all express themselves with words. Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue (words), and those who love it will eat its fruits.” WORDS CREATE Words set the stage! Words create attitude! HIS WORD CREATES! Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” There are a multitude of WORDS used this time of year to express this season. To name a few...cards, caroling, ornaments, musicals, parties, cantatas, Christmas trees, gifts, shepherds, lights, wise men, decorations, tinsel, and of course...Merry Christmas! There, I did exactly what many do today. I left out the most important WORD of Christmas....JESUS. The most important WORDS of Christmas....Luke 2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Jon Morrow a blogger stated that, “They tell us that there are 595 POWER WORDS to make a person a better writer.” Now, I am not going to list all of those. He went on to say that all those words were organized into 7 different types: Fear, Encouragement, Lust, Anger, Greed, Safety and Forbidden. Dr. Hyder Zahed is a scientist, author, speaker and a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. States: “Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble.” “In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.” “And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:1-2, 14 So, the Meaning of CHRISTMAS---GOD REVISITING THE WORLD HE CREATED TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO HIS CREATION--THROUGH HIS WORD, THE WORD BECOMING FLESH!! In all our celebrating, be sure to invite the Honored Guest! Don't leave Him out! My words to you this Christmas---are WORDS OF WORSHIP O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord.
