Messenger
Winter 2017
Warmest Christian Greetings! It is hard to believe the year is almost over and Christmas is upon us. These
holiday seasons are sometimes so busy that we forget the meaning of all the gatherings. I am reminded of the
angel announcing to Mary, “Do not be afraid, for you have found favor with God. And behold you will conceive
in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.” (Luke 1:30-31)
I personally believe family is the foundation of favor. We see this illustrated as the angel tells Mary you have
found favor with God. The foundation of our favor is Jesus Christ. He truly is “Immanuel, God with
us.” (Matthew 1:23) The greatest gift for us this year is still Jesus Christ.
Our world seems to be pointing to our Favor returning to receive us. As a kid, and even today, there is a song
that goes something like this: “You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why,
Santa Claus is coming to town.” In the midst of all the chaos, natural disasters, and tragedies across the world,
I’ve found myself singing this song with a different message. It goes something like this: “You better watch out,
you better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why. Jesus Christ is coming to town.”
You see, this man Jesus really does see us when we are sleeping.
He knows when we are awake. He knows if we’ve been bad or
good. He really is making a list and checking it twice. I believe He
is coming soon. So as I close, remember the foundation of our
favor is family. We, as believers, are a part of an eternal family.
HE IS COMING SOON!
Blessings,
