It is spring time here in the great state of Mississippi. This time of year has caused me to pause and reflect.
I am reminded of the great God we serve and the words of the psalmist during this season. David declares,
“Mountains, and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:
Kings of the earth, and all people, princes, and all judges of the earth. Both young men, and maidens: old men,
and children. Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent: his glory is above the
earth and heaven.” (Psalms 148:9-13)
It amazes me to think the trees, flowers, and grass all praise Him. The mountains, hills, and valleys praise
Him. The birds chirping in the morning and the frogs croaking at night all praise Him. The cattle in the
pastures, the grasshoppers, crickets, and all creeping things of the ground praise Him. All of creation
praises Him. The people of God are to praise Him as well. The good news is you’re never too old or young
to praise Him. Regardless of age, gender, or race, we are all to praise the name of the Lord.
So whether we are awakening in the morning and sitting on the porch with our
coffee or we are having a glass of iced tea after working in the yard, let us never
forget all creation praises Him. He created everything to praise His name. My
prayer for us during this spring season is for God to be praised in our churches,
homes, schools, and work places. It is my hope that we see God in the midst of the
colors of spring. Let us always be mindful of the praise He deserves.
Blessings,
Spring 2018
