WOMANTORN Tearing from the inside out, Lisa Forrest, Hair & Make - up By Taylor Kelly, Photography: AmyLee www.amylee.com.au Styling: AmyLee For me this piece represents how it feels to live with domestic abuse, the scars come from the inside and push outward. The bruises disappear and the wounds heal on your skin but the damage inside of you creeps it’s way outward until eventually you can’t hide it anymore. You literally feel like a person torn apart, with no where to go and no where to hide. You lose yourself, you lose so much dignity it’s like you are naked and the world is judging you, and no-one more harshly than yourself. This is a portrait of my own feelings of a time when I myself lived in domestic violence, I hope it speaks to you too.
