Queenslands Fashion Designer To Watch
This week I had the pleasure of catching
up with Miss Niki Teljega for an exclusive
interview. Niki us one of Australia’s up and
coming Haute Couture fashion designers, also
Niki Teljega was the star of our launch party
and showed off her amazing gowns. Niki was
so generous to donate one of her amazing
gowns for auction to help us raise money for
the Manly Womens Resource Center, {womens & childrens shelter and resource center}
What a great night and we raised an amazing
amount for charity.
So Niki let me ask you a few questions
What does fashion mean to you? Niki: Fashion to me means being able to express your
personality through the clothing you wear.
I can tell a lot about a person just by seeing
what that person is wearing or their continuous style..

AmyLee: When did you realise you
wanted to be a fashion designer? Niki: I first
realised I wanted to be a Fashion designer
when I was 5 years old. Up to then I wanted
to be a vet, but the thought of giving animals
needles scared me, so I switched to Fashion.
What was the first article of clothing
you ever designed? Niki: I guess I’ve been
making clothing since I could remember,
My parents gave me a sewing machine when
I was 10 years old, I had no idea what I was
doing, but I sewed clothes that didn’t fit anyone. Other then that, my first real piece that I
constructed with patterns and then sewing it
together correctly would have to be a project
