There is a song whose lyrics go
like this: Summer time and
the living is easy. So true, but
good things come to an end
and Summer, 2016 is quickly
approaching memory status.
And as the month winds down,
some of you will be going back to
school, starting a new job and/or
moving to a new location.
As we look around us, so many
things have happened this
summer, some new and some not
so new.
In particular, whether or not we
have a relative or knew someone
who was the victim of violence,
we have all been touched by it,
and it has a profound effect on
our everyday lives as well as
our future. Our hearts and our
prayers go out to the families
of those victims of unnecessary
violence.
Now is a good time as any to take
stock of your own lives. Start by
asking yourselves some questions:
What are my attributes? What
are some things about myself that
I need to work on? What habits
do I need to break? Answer these
questions, then ask yourself even
more pertinent questions: What
are my goals? Where do I want to
be in five years? What am I doing
to get there?

You are not too young to start
moving toward your dreams.
However, your dreams must line
up with your reality. You cannot
hope to be the next great _______
without putting in the time and
effort and doing whatever it
takes to get you there. Keep in
mind that for every dream that
you have, there are probably
thousands (if not millions) of
young people with the same
dream who are getting prepared
to compete with you and who plan
to win when the time comes for
___________________. These
young people are no smarter
than you and keep in mind that
your chances of getting that thing
that you want and are hoping
for depends on your tenacity
and perseverance and most
importantly, your preparation!
Sounds like a daunting challenge?
Not to worry, we got you covered!
In this issue, we talk to you about
having good self-esteem and
boosting your ego which is sooo
necessary if you want to become
the superstar that you dream
about. We also have started a 4
part series on Wall Street which
is located in New York City, the
financial capital of the world.
Let’s face it Ladies, if you want
to be financially successful (and
who doesn’t want this) you must
understand the language of
finance. We also talk to you about
making good decisions by using
both your head and your heart.
And finally, we give you, as we do
in every issue- important places
(libraries and museums) that you
can visit on line and in person to
learn more about our historyto know where we are going, we
must know where we have been!
That said, now is a good time
to sit back relax, thumb slowly
through the pages, we know that
you will thoroughly enjoy this
issue of Miss Sis!
