day ! By the way people who ate my pizza still tell me it was the best pizza they have had !! You have a rich filmography . Which movies can you mark and why ? My most notable works so far have been on the ( in order of occurrence ) « Pirates of the Caribbean », but « 10000 BC » it the film that brought fame to me and also the longest time of work ( 6 months of work and travel to South Africa , New Zealand and Namibia with some of Hollywood ’ s best cast and crew . Then there were « Ironman », « You don ’ t mess with the Zohan », « God ’ s not dead », and « Camp X Ray », plus a short about the Armenian Genocide « Straw Dolls ». Recently I had the privilege to work on « The Promise » and it amazing cast and crew . I ’ ve been in Hollywood or more truly the entertainment world for about 21 years and have been in more than 50 films and TV projects so far ( much more if you consider the projects that I have been involved with friends and colleagues and then the stunt work and extra work ). In some way you realize that you ’ re getting old and tired of waiting for Hollywood to call you ! So you try to grab the bull by its horns , the only way to do this in Hollywood is to create your own project . That is where I am now . I am in the process of writing 6 different projects ( and rewrites and rewrites ...), but the trick is to find financing . The money !! When you find the RIGHT person who likes and believes in your projects and has the ability to get it done financially , half the battle is done ! Now all you have to do is to find the RIGHT cast and crew and shoot your project , then ... distribution ! It ’ s a long and difficult process to get a film done RIGHT ! But it ’ s worth the wait and it ’ s weight in gold when it is done right !! Entertainment world is a very difficult world to find good friends and people , don ’ t take me wrong , there are plenty of great people , but there are a few who would steal your ideas and what you ’ ve written as a « friend » and try to make it their own ! ( Talking from experience !). And there are a lot of people that take advantage of the new beginners in the business and they are the ones who give Hollywood it ’ s bad name ! « Change starts with each individual », and that applies to anything in life ! I have brought honesty and pure friendship with me everywhere I ’ ve gone and done , I live an honest life and people with experience see that ! I have made a lot of great friends in Hollywood and look forward to making and meeting a whole bunch more . There is a protocol at this place at a certain level , people who are successful and busy working all the time , you shouldn ’ t bother them unless you are bringing something to the table that would benefit their project , or find that window of opportunity to talk with them when they are not busy ! I have established some of those contacts but I have to be careful how I approach each individual and what I bring to them , after all it is a business ! трудоемкий процесс , но , если он сделан качественно , все усилия окупятся с лихвой ! В мире развлечений непросто найти настоящих друзей и просто хороших людей , не поймите меня неправильно , есть достойные , но также существует много тех , кто без зазрения совести присвоит себе твои идеи и сценарии . Немало тех , кто таким образом использует новичков , запятнывая имя Голливуда ! Я очень честный человек , которому повезло встретить здесь друзей , ведь люди видят , какой ты на самом деле . В Голливуде существует негласное правило : если личность успешна и постоянно работает , ее не стоит тревожить , пока у тебя нет какого-то достойного предложения , либо можно попытаться найти то « окно », когда она не очень занята . Мне часто это удавалось , однако проекты , предложенные таким людям , должны быть действительно интересны , в конце концов , это бизнес !
Интересны ваши мысли о театре . Действительно ли настоящий актер должен испытать свои силы на сцене ? Хотя многие известные актеры имеют богатый опыт работы в театре , нельзя сказать , что все хорошие артисты начинали именно с него . Сцена очень отличается от мира кино , здесь важно показывать сильнейшие эмоции , чтобы их все прочувствовали и поняли . В фильме же виден каждый мускул твоего лица , поэтому действия и слова могут быть едва уловимы . Я считаю , что настоящий актер – это человек , который может донести то , что от него требуется , а каким способом , неважно !
Пожалуй , главный вопрос . Какой главный урок преподнесла вам жизнь ? Жизнь слишком коротка , чтобы о чем-то жалеть ! Говорите каждому : « Я люблю тебя » перед тем , как уйти . Следуйте за своей мечтой и желаниями . Старайтесь оставлять любое место , куда попадаете , в еще лучшем состоянии , чем обнаружили его впервые . Сажайте деревья , наша планета будет благодарна ! What about theatre ? Do you agree that a real actor should try himself on the stage ? Although most notable actors have a rich background in theater , not all good actors have started from a theater ! It is much different from film , in theater your feelings must be portrayed BIG to be seen and understood by everyone , specially the ones sitting in the back ! In film every twitch in your face is noticed , so your actions and feelings must be subtle ! Actors in theater most of the time have the right training and tools , and if they can minimize and have a good control over their emotions , can do very well in the world of cinema . I think the REAL actor is the one who can bring what it is asked from him or her for the part !
Finally … What is the most important lesson that life has given to you ? Life is too short for regrets ! Tell the ones : « I love you » when you leave every time ! Follow your passion and desire . Try to leave every place where you are in a better condition that you found it , for the next people . And plant trees , OUR planet will thank you for it . With respect , love and peace , MARCO .
