In Russia people know your face , but in fact we have very few information about Marco Khan . How did your start your career ? I started my journey or carrier in the film business in 1995 , after closing my restaurant business that I had had for 12 years ( 3 restaurants , « Marco ’ s Pizzeria », not all at the same time !). I DID NOT know anyone or anything about the film business , all I knew was that this was my new passion and I was going towards it ! What a journey it has been !! I started to work at a gym , ( training people ), so I can stay in shape myself and make some money on the side . Then one of my clients told me to join an extra ’ s casting agency ( at the time Central Casting , and I think it ’ s still one of the main extras ’ casting agencies in LA !). So I did ! But because of my unusual look ( a shaved head , goatee , muscular build and a very distinct look ) from the first day I was asked if I wanted to work on an Arnold Schwarzenegger film as a union actor ( there is a process that keeps evolving in how non union actors can join S A G )! From my understanding it ’ s a very long process and some people have waited up to 10 years to get there . So right away I started to work as an extra on a bunch of films and TV shows , soon after because of my athletic background I started to do stunt work and also joined Universal Studios in Los Angeles working on their live shows , which required stunts ! I worked on « Wild Wild West » and « Waterworld »! At some point I started to take acting classes and got a commercial agent , that ’ s where I started to really come out of my shell and become an actor and in 1997 ! For me my journey in the entertainment world has been much like a video game ! Where the player goes through trials and errors and through his journey he finds trinkets and gifts in order to get his task completed ! Everything in life I have gone through has been preparing me for this . When you are on camera , you can not fake an emotion , your emotion has to come from a deep place from inside you !
Who is Marco now - an actor , director or someone else ? Tell us about your relations with Hollywood and the world of cinema itself . Who is Marco Khan ?? Hmmmm , let me think .... Before everything else , after I graduated from high school / 12th grade I was attending college for a short period of time ( about a year and few months ) but then the situation in Iran got worse , after the revolution the new Iranian government stopped allowing and monetary exchange from and to Iran , so did the USA government ( because of the hostage situation at the US Embassy ). I found myself in a hard situation : study or work to pay our bills ? At that time my mother had come to join us , so it was my mom , my brother and myself . For a while I was working odd jobs trying to make ends meet , without higher education it was difficult to find something that had a good future ! Once I tried to join the US military Air Force , Navy , Marines and Army ! Since I was a little child I had always wanted to be a pilot , so I thought that the best way to do it was through military service ! But at that time you had to be a USA citizen to join the military ... After 2-3 years of working odd jobs my father was finally able to come for a visit to USA ( for 2-3 months ). During his stay he told me : « Why don ’ t you start a business ?» I was wondering what or how ! He gave me 5000 $ to open a pizza place ! I found a small place and then me , my brother and 2 friends worked and turned a shop in to a small pizza restaurant . Apparently I have a gift of taste , prior to that I had only ate pizza , never made one ! But one thing else I had in me was experimenting with food and my taste buds . A friend had given me a recipe for sauce and pizza dough ! I took that and started to add ingredients that appealed to my taste , within weeks I had a better and fresh tasting pizza sauce . I / we made everything fresh from scratch , even the cheese we used BIG blocks of cheese and mix 3 different kinds together . I had 3 restaurants all together ! Not at the same time ! Then one day after my father had passed I decided to do something with my life that I would enjoy going to work every

уровня , людям приходится работать по 10 лет . Так началась моя работа в фильмах и телевизионных шоу , вскоре появилась возможность попробовать себя в качестве каскадера . После этого я присоединился к Юниверсал Студиос в Лос-Анджелесе , им нужны были люди подобной профессии . У меня появился агент и возможность посещать актерские курсы , в 1997 году Марко Хан стал полноценным актером . Воспринимаю этот нелегкий путь больше как игру , нежели реальность . Игру , где герой преодолевает множество препятствий , чтобы достичь своей цели . Все , что было у меня в жизни , является лишь « подготовкой » к миру кино : играя на камеру , невозможно быть фальшивым , эмоции переполняют тебя !
Кто Марко Хан сейчас ? Актер , режиссер или кто-то иной ? Расскажите о своих отношениях с Голливудом и с миром кино в целом . Кто такой Марко Хан ? Хмм , надо подумать . Прежде всего хочу сказать , что после окончания школы год я посещал колледж , но затем ситуация в Иране значительно ухудшилась , после революции передо мной встал серьезный выбор : учиться или работать . В это время к нам с братом присоединилась мама , поэтому теперь предстояло обеспечивать троих человек . В течение некоторого время я занимался « грязными » работами , ведь без высшего образования сложно найти что-то стоящее . Пытался даже вступить в армию / флот / ВВС США , потому что в детстве грезил о том , чтобы стать летчиком , а это было идеальным способом осуществить свою мечту . Спустя 2-3 года в Штаты наконец приехал погостить мой отец , который судьбоносно спросил : « Почему бы тебе не начать свой бизнес ?». Я задумался , а отец подарил 5000 долларов для открытия пиццерии . Я нашел небольшое помещение , которое вскоре мы с братом и двумя друзьями превратили из магазина в настоящий , правда небольшой , ресторан пиццы ! Очень нравилось экспериментировать со вкусами , причем у меня настоящий талант в этой области . Однако пиццу сам я никогда не готовил , только ел . Друг дал мне рецепт специального соуса и теста . Я начал добавлять к этому ингредиенты на свой вкус , в течение каких-то недель у нас был самый лучший соус к пицце , результатом чего явились 3 потрясающих ресторана . После смерти отца я задумался о работе , на которую буду ходить с удовольствием каждый день . А ведь люди , помнящие мою пиццу , до сих пор говорят , что ничего вкуснее в жизни не ели !
Достойный старт ! Однако , возвращаясь к мечте , невозможно не упомянуть , что ваши роли в кино многочисленны и разнообразны . Какие фильмы заслуживают особого внимания ? Самой известной моей работой стал фильм « Пираты Карибского моря », но « 10 000 лет нашей эры » принесли настоящую славу , наряду с самым продолжительным временем съемок ( 6 месяцев работы в Южной Африке , Новой Зеландии и Намибии ). Также могу выделить фильмы « Железный человек », « Не шутите с Зоханом !», « Бог не умер », « Лагерь « X-Ray », картину о геноциде армян « Соломенные куклы ». Недавно мне посчастливилось работать над лентой « Обещание », в ней была задействована потрясающая команда ! В Голливуде , вернее , мире развлечений , работаю уже 21 год , снялся более чем в 50 фильмах и телевизионных передачах ( не считая массовок и участия в качестве каскадера ). Однако с годами ты понимаешь , что становишься старше , и ждать , когда Голливуд тебя позовет , просто надоело . Поэтому приходится брать быка за рога , единственный способ сделать это здесь – организовать свой собственный проект . Сейчас я в процессе создания шести … Самая большая проблема в этом деле – источник финансирования . Когда ты находишь человека , который верит и поддерживает твой проект материально , считай , что половина дел сделана ! Создание фильма – сложный и
