How often have we encountered a situation where details to a transaction were not being handled properly? Perhaps one of our peers was not following the industry guidelines regarding ethical behavior. Perhaps a direct violation of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics was taking place. On any given day of business, a Realtor® may be reluctant to get involved or are simply not willing to take the necessary steps to stop and or correct these actions and behaviors from continuing. But this is our duty and the backbone of our industry. Said another way, our unique Code of Ethics(COE) is the cornerstone of the National Association of REALTORS®. were no license laws in effect at this time and the real estate industry had a history of speculation, exploitation and disorder.
