Yaamon, cont’d from page 8 [11:19] <@mink> that would be fun! Has your style progressed to where you want it to be? Or what kind of other photos do you want to move towards? [11:20] I found shooting editorial and fashion was more challenging pushed me to learn and be better. With photography there is always so much to learn. I don’t think I have even learned 35% of what I need to call my self a great photographer. [11:21] I started out my first commercial type shoot shooting catalog looks for new graduated designer from college three or four years ago [11:24] <@mink> You still keep in touch with any of the old models/mua/stylists? [11:24] I actually keep in touch and still shoot with the models from 2013 onwards [11:26] With each year that passes by and learning new things I welcome learning new techniques. I still don’t think I’m even close to where I would like to be. I would like to be a bit more creative using the strobes. [11:28] This year would be a slightly different style of editing more a tweaking. I started to add grain and noise to the photos. To me this gives it a more film like feel. The grain and noise also add back some skin texture bringing the photo more to life keeping it real.. [11:28] I’m not a fan of the plastic mannequin skin edits. [11:28] <@mink> I see in a lot of shoots, there’s always beer (Red Stripe, anyone?), and you make trips to the British Virgin Islands -- what’s there? and what else do you do for fun? [11:31] We are all adults and life is so precious so why not have a little fun when you shoot. On my big commercial shoots its all water that I drink on set. lol Fun I try and enjoy life thats why I hardly shoot on weekends. I rather spends with family and friends. Summer bbq but then again on those bbq dinners there seems to be beer and vodka coolers around. [11:32] The British Virgin Islands my sister lives there with her family and her two girls. Family is important to me so I vist them once a year even though they also come and visit during the summer months and over Christmas. [11:33] I have recently given my niece an old D90 camera and showed her a few tips. When I visiting my sister a few times I lent her my Canon with the 70-22 f8 and the second time I thought it would be too heavy for her so I switched the lens to the 24-105. About 10mins later she came back and asked for the bigger lens. [11:34] My parents have our original home when we moved to Canada. My brother got married and moved to Miami. We see each other at least once or twice a year. I have a lot of first cousins that also lives in Markham. Some M.INK | Volume 2 74 are in Vancouver too. [11:37] <@mink> your niece is ambitious, just like you.. quickly upgrading equipment.. haha [11:37] Yes she is. My sister is moving to Spain Majorca I’m actually taking her to the airport this evening and then back to BVI. She is supposed to come back for Christmas if she does not go back to BVI for xmas. If I see my niece skills improve I will give her a prime 35mm f1.8 lens to really start playing with the dof and bokeh.   [11:37] <@mink> you do anything else for work other than photography? [11:37] <@mink> I’m assuming -- no more insurance :P [11:38] No more insurance unfortunately. I still t A shot from Mark’s first fashion shoo do a little computer IT work on the side when small companies needs help or friends computer needs servicing. [11:39] <@mink> most importantly, when are we all hanging out next? [11:43] Anytime man I recently had a chat with Vasco. It was at his little greet and meet at that back room one winter. This is where I actually saw you but being as shy as I was I kept to bar table as you look like the big popular photographer so I was not in your league. I also meet Kris Josef there. This was where I meet Holly
