Jeans with a history
Hiut Denim are the first jeans company in
the world to have their own history tag.
Welsh company, Hiut Denim, aim to sew
jeans and memories together through the
idea of a history tag.
Each pair of jeans is made with its own
number that can be registered online.
From there, the owner can upload
images of the memories made while
wearing the jeans.
When the jeans are handed over to the
next person, the new owner will be able
to track the history of the jeans as well as
share new memories.
Made with a focus on quality instead
of quantity, Hiut Denim have created a
unique and fun way to upcycle as the
value of the jeans increase over time,
making them sustainable.
David and Clare Hieatt founded the
business back in 2012. The jeans were
originally made for men with the choice
of two cuts; slim or regular. Now they
have expanded and are giving females
an option. So, what is next for the Welsh
jeans brand?
“We were the first jeans company in
the world to give each pair of jeans a
history tag and we are working on a
‘hackerproof’ pocket so your phone will
be kept safe from digital pick pocket.
We have just started.”
