MMA ’ s Pro-Manufacturing Candidate Endorsements 2020

MMA members compete with the lowest cost locations in the world , so it is imperative that state policymakers continuously seek ways to improve Michigan ’ s business climate and enhance the competitive position for manufacturing job creators . Every two years , MMA strategically identifies the candidates who will actively pursue that continuous improvement of our business climate and will work to support the industry ’ s forward momentum .
MMA is endorsing 66 pro-manufacturing candidates in the Michigan House of Representatives and two rule-of-law Michigan Supreme Court candidates in the upcoming General Election on Tuesday , 11 / 3 / 20 .
MMA bases endorsement of incumbent officials on votes cast on key bills impacting tax , employment and workforce and environmental and regulatory policy matters . Candidates for office are evaluated based on a detailed endorsement survey that assesses the individual ’ s position on key issues like tax , unemployment , education , environmental , liability and regulatory policy .
