Creating Operational Leaders
MFG Operations Conference 2019 Recap
Operational issues continue to challenge and
constrain Michigan’s leading employers. Every attempt
to innovate, hire, invest and grow is met with the
burden of financial, technological and HR uncertainty.
The MFG Operations Conference was a
first-of-its-kind MMA event bringing together
manufacturers with the operational issue specialists
capable of helping to move their business forward.
This all-day event featured keynote addresses on
growing your business and overcoming the challenge
of Michigan’s Paid Medical Leave Act, plus focused
breakout sessions and networking opportunities
throughout the day.
Stories of One Manufacturer’s
Journey to Success
Jim Richards and his team from Total Security
Solutions (TSS) revealed the strategies that helped
TSS push past operational barriers and achieve
growth goals they never knew were possible. They
shared how a series of choices changed the company’s
trajectory, including an empowered sales team,
growing revenue and state and national recognition.

Out of all the operations/organizational
improvement conferences I’ve been to,
the content at MMA’s conference was by
far the most applicable to my everyday
life. Some of the tactics were literally
implemented during a phone conversation
while traveling home that evening. The
keynotes were highly informational, the
staff was helpful, and the venue was top
notch. I’ll be at the next one.

effect on 3/29/19, requiring Michigan employers
to provide paid sick time to workers and many
attendees had questions about this new requirement.
