The production line is 100% from EU. All the
jackets including the materials are
manufactured within the EU. It was important for
me to know that the people who made the
clothes were treated with the respect of a
craftsman.
We also work with a mill that use green energy
and even the technical membrane in our styles
is environmentally responsible.
Tell me about your brand Rener
Rener is a women’s outerwear brand that is not
a typical fashion brand. We have 5 styles and that
is it.
All pieces are designed with care and intention.
The style is minimal and the materials are
technical, premium and great quality.
The range consist of 5 different outerwear
pieces that suit the different seasons of the year
and are applicable to any place in the world. I
wanted to be mindful of our costumers need to
fully live in these styles whatever the climate or
location.
As an extra quality all of the outerwear pieces
are weather-proof. Our hero product is the
Trencher. It is a wool coat made with a technical
membrane that makes it Windproof, waterproof
and breathable. You get all the qualities of a
windbreaker and raincoat but in a wool coat. The
brand is built on a sustainable and ethical
foundation that ensures our production is safe
and responsible.
What made you steer into designing
sustainable premium-outerwear?
I think the sustainable part is just a given for any
young brand these days. Fashion is by no means
sustainable so when starting a brand today I
think it is important to be as responsible as
possible.
I wanted to make a fashion brand that had
purpose even after the seasonal expiration date
had passed, so the product had to be viable and
something you would invest in. I was always
good a designing outerwear and it tied my two
degrees in traditional fashion and sportswear
together. I spent a long time thinking about what
Rener should be and the only thing that made
sense was outerwear, there was no other
alternative.
What is the process of ethically manufacturing
your pieces?
We do a small production run and have a storage
that we sell from. It was the best solution for our
start up and because I did not want to start a
production that would ultimately end up in a
sales bin or landfill. This is also why we don´t do
sales. We believe in our product.
