Creating Victoria’s vintage hair and makeup look for our Grace Chen Fashion shoot.

As soon as I met Victoria, I just knew she was going to suit this beautiful hair and makeup look, she is naturally very beautiful, and this make up look is actually very simple to achieve with the right products and a bit of practice.

I started by using a moisturizing cream to prep her skin I applied (Decleor Hydra

loral ever fresh hydrating light cream £29.00).

I then started to contour Victoria’s face using (Rodial Instagram highlighting and contour powders both £52.00).

Using a concealer under the eye area to hide any signs of tiredness - we had a very early start that morning (Bye Bye Undereye by IT Cosmetics.

I then applied a flawless foundation with an airbrush (these are a fabulous way to apply a flawless with great coverage speedy foundation, (I used a Mac airbrush foundation in NW30 £26.00).

Using a Guerlain meteorites to set the foundation and add a light reflecting sheen to her base makeup £29.50.

For Victoria’s brows I used a Benefit Ka Brow to enhance their natural shape £20.50

I added a touch more highlighter to really enhance her cheekbones and just on the outline of her lips to create the illusion

of fuller lips, (this time using Ofra highlighter pillow talk £25.00).

For Victoria’s eye make-up I added a very soft brown eyeshadow onto the crease line to create depth, then added a light gold eyeshadow over the whole eye lid up to the socket line ensuring to blend well into the crease line, I also added the brown eyeshadow just under her lower lashes to frame her eyes ( using Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to mesmerise colour Jean £22.00 this is such a beautiful product too, and MAC Eyeshadow in twinks for the crease line and under Lower lashes £14.00).

I added the classic vintage black liquid liner - if you struggle applying this rest

your little finger onto your face as you apply this will steady your hand and you’ll have better control over your brush I used ( Lancôme Grandiose Black Liquid eyeliner £23.00).

I added a touch of waterproof mascara and some beautiful False lashes I love the Eyelure False lash range ( Eyelure Texture range no 153 in black £5.25) mascara Lancôme Hypnose Waterproof mascara - Black £25.00.

I also added a touch of colour to the apples of Victoria’s cheeks (Mac blush powder in swoon £19.50).

For her lips I wanted to create a beautiful classic red lip, starting with a lip pencil to outline and fill in the lips - this is great for ensuring long lasting lip colour then add your lipstick I used (Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red £24.00 and Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Pencil Kiss-and tell £14.00).

Victoria’s Classic Vintage hair…

I really believe Beautiful Vintage hair is going to make a massive comeback as after all it has been the essence of beauty throughout the ages and I know Victoria loved her hair too.

I used a good setting spray first all over the hair and allowed it to dry I used L’Oréal Tech ni Art Pli Thermo fixing spray £15.00 then using the tongs Babyliss 19mm £29.50 I sprayed a little hairspray to each section using Schwarzkopf Go to Be hairspray, curled the hair and pinned it to the head to allow to cool into the curl - this ensures lasting curls which is needed before a brush out.

The Brush Out…

After I’ve allowed 10-15 minutes for the curls to cool, I proceeded to brush the curls out to create the classic beautiful shape for brushing the curls out I love love love the Mason Pearson boar bristle brush £79.00.

I added a little pomade to the hair too to smooth out the curl I used Lady Luck hair pomade £13.00.
