A COMING OF STAGE STORY
Hollywood’s most talented stars will share the stage with Swarovski once again for the 90th Oscars® on Sunday, March 4, 2018. This year marks Swarovski’s 11th year illuminating Oscars set design as well as the 6th year of partnership with Tony® and Emmy® Award-winning production designer Derek McLane, the mind behind the design. Using 45 million Swarovski crystals, McLane’s breathtaking display draws on the sensational atmosphere of the film industry with a grandiose proscenium; the return of the beloved floating Oscars; and a signature backdrop curtain and opera box covers.

McLane’s inventive inspirations derived from an initial visit to Swarovski’s historic headquarters in Wattens, Austria, where innovation, creativity and craftsmanship are widely celebrated.
