THE CONFESSIONS OF A PEIGNOIR QUEEN

STEVEN SMITH TALKS THE PIMLICO BORN STAR EVE FERRET

LONDON BORN Eve Ferret burst onto the club scene in the mid-seventies, when she was a regular performer at the legendary Blitz club - the same venue that also gave birth to such stars as Spandau Ballet, Boy George and the sadly deceased Steve Strange.

The actress, singer and writer, also known among her cabaret fans as the Pimlico Belle, was discovered by Hollywood legend Gene Wilder, who cast her as Sylvia in Haunted Honeymoon, along with his wife Gilda Radner and Jonathan Pryce.

Despite her success in Hollywood she shunned the LA lights and stayed in the UK, making several films, including Absolute Beginners with David Bowie and Patsy Kensit.

Eve, who has been with partner Mark Summerfield for over thirty years, took time out to concentrate on bringing up their son, and worked behind the scenes in props and styling.

She made a return to the stage last year, with her unique style of cabaret – which she likes to call “Fabaret” – and released her first album, Doolally. In July, she will be appearing at the jazz club and premier London cabaret venue The Pheasantry on London’s Kings Road.
