From not wanting to be a part of the world at all right through to wanting to inspire the world, Callum Burnham has gone through a journey which can only be described as amazing and the impact he is having on literally thousands of people from all over the world is phenomenal.

Callum lives on the edge of a beautiful village in the county of Northamptonshire. He is a very typical, and normal 16-year-old who attends a main stream Academy where he studies hard and like every teenager, has fun. Callum, just like all of his friends, are going through all the transformational experiences involved when you go from being a child to being an adult, just like we all did.

His humour is a dominant feature in his life which is often an ice-breaker when people are uncertain how to be with him. We are all unique in our own way, but Callum Burnham has several challenges that are quite different to most. The main difference is Callum has Cerebral Palsy.

Who better to start this story than the man himself……..

Hi, my name is Callum Burnham and I have just had the most amazing time over the last few months learning some great stuff which I want to share with as many people as I can.

I suppose I should start by explaining a little about why I’m slightly different to most of my friends, I’ve got cerebral palsy. This basically means that part of the brain, and in my case the part that sends messages to the muscles in my legs, doesn’t function properly. This is the reason why I’m in a wheelchair. It’s not that bad really, I mean I’m one of the lucky people that get to drive way before they’re 17 and I get to have great fun scaring the living daylights out of people like when I suddenly say to people “I’m going to take a shortcut” and start heading for the stairs instead of the lift, their faces are great to see. Yeah, I know I can’t do everything that other people can do but that’s okay you know, all things considered, I live a fantastic life.
