How much should I sleep when working out regularly?

Sleep is an incredibly important component of staying healthy and fit. Imagine if you drove your car without ever shutting down the engine.  Your car needs time to cool off, regular maintenance, to be refueled and checked for imbalances. So do we!

Sleep allows our bodies to rejuvenate and decompress so that we have the energy to wake up and crush another day. 6-8 hours a night can greatly reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone), reduce the risk of depression, increase mental acuity, improve immune system function and can reduce your risk of inflammation.

Need I say more?

You got it! This answer just made me smile as I always use car analogies when talking about the digital world and it also works here! Plus I’m guilty sometimes ( and I’m sure many people are too) of not getting enough sleep. I think you have explained perfectly the reason as to why we need to get enough rest to recharge.

Should I train before or after work?

The best time for you to workout is really dependent on what works best for each individual. Where I see a lot of people falling short is in the time management department.

Becoming a master of your schedule is one of the most valuable skill sets and it just so happens to be one of my greatest strengths.  I love digging into a client’s day to day and helping them design a daily/weekly/monthly routine that is insanely productive but also very practical.

Most people feel overwhelmed because their lives are very messy and all over the place.  Bringing some order to their disorder allows for people to handle their responsibilities (work, family, social life) and still make time for their health and fitness with a greater chance of success.
