So here are a few tips on getting started:

* Be clear about what you want to be well-known for and why. This can be in expertise and personality.

* Define who you need to be more visible with to reach your goals, internally and externally.

* External contacts – industry journalists, event organisers, content writers, expert bloggers, other experts and leaders in your sector, CEOs of local or national charities, non-executive director agencies, etc

* Internal contacts – senior people in other divisions or countries, your communications and PR team, assistants of key people, etc

* How is it best to be more visible with these people? What is their agenda – make it about them where you can. Just a few ideas to get you started:

* Write articles & blogs

* Compile a synopsis of a recent project and learning points that might help others

* Thank people where due

* Manage your social media profiles, posts and comments to attract these people and the desired audience, and illustrate your expertise

* Speak for a local charity

* Get yourself on a panel or speaking platform for a local or national conference

* Whatever you’re doing to raise your visibility, remember humility as a leader is attractive, likeable and authentic, so make sure you keep this in mind.

Above all, remember world-class means having a strong personality that is known over and above your individual products and services. You and your leaders provide this personality.
