SOCIAL SCENE BRIDGEFEST Bridges Outreach held its biannual fundraising beer bash, “BridgesFest," at The Morris Museum on May 7. The event featured more than 80 beers for tasting, a food truck, catered food, live jazz, a wine pull, and a silent auction. The beer vendors were present to discuss the beers and provide tasting tips. COURTESY OF NCJW/ESSEX On May 17, the NCJW/Essex Lunch and Learn program featured former Governor James McGreevey. He talked about criminal justice reform and reinvention after incarceration to nearly 150 people in attendance. McGreevey, director of the Jersey City Employment and Training Program, pointed out that our nation spends $70 billion a year on incarceration and discussed the importance of education and changing behaviors to help people find jobs, reinvent their self image and transition back into society after leaving prison.
