evenings, you can
find Kevin and Jane
Quinn enjoying a
glass of wine under
the shade of the white oak tree in
their Japanese garden. Listening to
the sound of water trickling from
their water fountain, and surrounded
by peonies, ferns and day lilies, it is
a quiet time to relax and enjoy their
beautiful backyard, the result of
a true labor of love from Kevin.
Kevin grew up helping his mother
in their Washington, D.C., yard,
where he developed a passion for
gardening. “As we worked, I don’t
remember what we talked about,
it was all about digging holes and
putting plants in,” he says. “I do
remember the satisfaction if they
later bloomed, and even better if
they came back the next year.”
After living for several years in
Japan, Kevin and Jane bought their
house in Short Hills in 2006, as a
place to raise their children, Dylan,
21, Anna, 19, and Tommy, 17.
The house didn’t require much work, ➤
