ART
In a second exhibit at
the Visual Arts Center,
Santa Fe artist Ted Larsen
will create an immersive
installation entitled: LINED
OUT. Larsen fashions a
network of horizontal and
linear elements that are
attached directly to gallery
walls. He uses steel rods
covered with salvaged
automotive metal, and the
individual units combine to
make patterns suggestive
of Mondrian. Sunday,
September 25 through
Monday, January 2, 2017.
In the multimedia
exhibit TOUCHSTONE,
New York artist Rachel
Beach uses a variety of
media to explore the
interplay between image
and object, volume
and void. The exhibit,
incorporating free-standing abstract sculptures,
painted symbols, video
and large-scale photographs, also challenges
viewers to be aware of
their own bodies in relation to the objects and
the space in the gallery.
Sunday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, March 19, 2017.
■ Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, 68 Elm St., Summit. Suggested admission: $5 adults, $3 students/seniors, members free.
