Deleskia Butler is a recent United States Army retiree and soror of Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority, Inc. who is using her experience with soldiers to improve the lives of others. While deployed, she realized her soldiers were not able to pass the physical training test. The monotony of running was not helping, so; she sought other ways to motivate and help her soldiers prepare. That’s when she came across cycling classes. Butler fell in love with cycling and immediately realized the cardio value.

As a retiree, and now a certified cycling instructor, she recommends that military service members who are transitioning out of the military take advantage of all of the free training and available workshops. “Even if you’re not sure that you will start a business, attend the free training that’s offered.” Many of these training and workshops in the civilan world end up costing upwards to thousands of dollars to attend. It makes sense to prepare for as many post military opportunities as possible while they are free.

You can support Butler in Louisville, Kentucky where she opened the Workout Boutique. She offers Hip Hop Cycling classes, which will not only help you get and stay fit, but it will be a fun way to ramp up your cardio.
