Keep your open house as engaging and exciting as possible with a fun raffle. All your visitors can enter by giving you their contact information. Their anticipation for the surprise will build up as the open house commences, enticing everyone to stay until the very end. After all, who doesn’t like winning free gifts?

7. Hold a raffle for attendees

Homebuyers wander through many open house showings when they are on the hunt, but one way to make sure your visitors remember you is to give out gifts with your face and contact information. While this may be a bit of an investment, the reward far surpasses the cost with the growth of your network and gaining relevance in the community. Some practical gift ideas are pens, stickers, reusable bags, or magnets which are all useful, everyday items that will make an impact on your audience.

8. Give practical gifts like pens or magnets with your contact information to those who sign-in

This open house is your gateway to making sales and maximizing the price of the listing. To make the most out of the home’s interior, clear tables and counters of small items such as kitchen appliances, accessories, books, blankets, or anything that adds more bulk to the space. This will give your guests the opportunity to mentally move into the home — to see what the house could be for them with so much area for them to personalize.

9. Declutter the space and make the house look as spacious as possible but not completely empty

Branching off of the previous point, the goal of an open house is to give visitors ideas about the home and, in turn, entice them to purchase it. Play design colors simple with neutral tones such as grey, white, and beige. Painting the home in bright bold colors may not sit well with some of your guests, while black and white may be too boring. Neutrals deliver just the right amount of pigment that leaves room for mental creativity and appeals to the masses who may come to your open house.

10. Decorate with neutral colors to appeal to all viewers

Now that you have the house furnishings down and gifts for your guests, don’t forget to play your part as the expert real estate agent showing the home. Be sure to know everything about the home such as places to go nearby, schools for children to attend, the demographics, the weather, the neighbors, and more. It wouldn’t hurt to invite some additional help and ask the neighbors to join the party because they would know better than anyone else what it’s like to live there. Having an informational handout of the neighborhood wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

With a bit of extra effort and planning, you will blow visitors away at your next open house. For more helpful tips and advice on how to leverage your real estate business, check out the MoxiWorks blog.
